I just can't with this book. I feel like if I met the characters in real life, I would purposely avoid every single one of them. They all came off as very shallow and self-centered.

This is my least favorite of Moriarty’s books I have read. Going in, I thought this book would focus much more on the mystery of the husband’s secret, however that is revealed and then focuses more on the after effects.

This book felt a bit meandering in the middle, with very low stakes once the secret was actually revealed. The characters are also difficult to connect with or establish an emotional tie to.

I also didn’t appreciate the body-shaming and fat phobia that continually reoccurred throughout the book.

An intricate story about “how far would you go for the ones you love”; would you lie? kill? hide/tell the truth? And the consequences of those decisions, in addition to what-if scenarios.
I caught myself imagining what I would do if I was in the character’s places.
This was my first Liane Moriarty book and won’t be my last!!
