This book is not as good as some of his others, but MAN... I really needed this.
When I'm going through quite a bit in my life, it is good to pick up a Sedaris book and laugh my ass off.
David... you better keep on writing...

Full of essays about his highly disfunctional family, David Sedaris had me laughing through most of the book. A bit crass a times- I'm not sure I could recommend this to some of my friends.

Like the other Sedaris book I read ([b:Me Talk Pretty One Day|4137|Me Talk Pretty One Day|David Sedaris|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1431013639l/4137._SY75_.jpg|1030767]), there were some great parts in this book and some meh parts. I suppose that's true of anyone's life, and the author must choose a variety of stories to set down in words that will appeal to various people. As before, the stories featuring his brother Rooster are the best. The story involving the girl from the troubled home who ended up causing him to have to move was ... I don't even have words to describe it. The house cleaning story was hilarious. But mostly just stories. A good, fast read that kept me interested.

Primarily full of personal stories like [b:Naked|46254874|Naked|David Sedaris|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1560210025l/46254874._SY75_.jpg|2086690], but not quite as memorable. Although I particularly enjoyed gathering more information about the wildly dysfunctional Sedaris clan, I didn't feel that there were any pieces here that stood out from the rest. The writing continues to be excellent, though; it's always interesting to see what Sedaris is able to pull from the mundanity of life.
