SPOILERS!

This book grabbed my attention fast. The story seemed really interesting and fun, in a dark way, at first. Sarah, the FMC, was smart, tough and calculating.
BUT I lost interest very quickly after Sarah ran from Luke, the MMC. Luke seemed very badass, sweet, demanding and overall a goodish guy. But soon after Sarah and Luke are together again he becomes very whiny and a sacarycat? This was not the MMC we met in the beginning of this book? How can he be a paid killer when he worries and gets scared this much? I get that he now cared for Sarah, but it was almost like he had no confidence all of a sudden.
Sarah also lost all her toughness and became very flighty.
Then there’s the friendship(?) between Sarah and Decker. When did that happen? Why is he suddenly whispering in her ear like they’ve known each other for years. Relationships. Need. To. Build.
The over all plot. Sarah tells us Jacob killed her entire family one night because she didn’t answer her phone. But we never get any glimpse of Jacob and how was he like. So this “going and killing your entire family that includes childeren” is very weird. Does doing something like that impulsively fit his character? Was he evil in other ways? Did he do other impulsive dangerous things? We don’t know. All we know is that his family was rich and they apparently helped him get away? Then he became a dealer?
The ending was SO anticlimactic. What the fuck was that? They have to convince Torian that Jacob aka Vaughn, who has worked for Torian for years is the name he is after. Then Jacob appears, Sarah puts a few bullets in his chest. Everyone is pointing a gun at someone, and then suddenly this guy Carlos is killed and suddenly everything is fine again. What the fuck happened??? Luke and Decker go to the police station. They get out after few hours and then Sarah and Luke go their separate ways.
This books whole point was getting revenge. Did she get it? Yes. Was it the most anticlimactic, boring part of this book? Yes.
Overall, I would have hoped a little more background for mainly Sarah and Jacob, for us to also want the revenge as much as Sarah did.
I’m glad this book was short.

This book! I honestly didn’t know what to expect when I started Hunter and then I couldn’t put it down. Eden Summers writes a passionate and suspenseful story layered with intrigue that had me turning page after page to see what would happen next. Reaching “the end” was bittersweet. I had to close the book and take a few minutes to process the thrilling journey Ms. Summers took me on. Hunter is a must read!

This was an easy quick read that was enjoyable enough, it focuses on Sarah and Hunter who when this begins are both keeping secrets and both have hidden agendas. Sarah is living under the radar whilst attempting to get revenge and closure on an incident in her past where her whole family was wiped out. She's living in limbo unable to move forward until she achieves her goals.

Hunter is an outside contractor to some bad individuals, he finds his path crossing with Sarah unexpectedly when she detains a mark who he also has an agenda with. She is now on his radar. But instead of doing his job he instead becomes enamoured and intrigued by this spitfire of a woman and it's not long before he's doing his utmost to keep her off his boss's radar and protect her. But with both still keeping secrets and Sarah refusing to lower her high walls this is going to be a rocky ride to that HEA together.

This wasn't a complicated read and was fairly straightforward I finished it fast and found it well written. The story was interesting though I did think the first half was stronger and Hunter and Sarah had plenty of chemistry. I'm on board for reading the next book in the series.
