Things I liked:
- Seeing Painter and his daughter connect was really sweet. I loved how involved he was.
- I could see how much Painter loved her, and I loved reading his perspective to see Melanie the way he saw her.
Things I didn’t like:
- Just felt like so much drama at several points and not the good kind.
- I definitely understood Melanie’s hurt about
Painter’s risk taking and getting arrested. That was so shitty. But the way that situation went on for YEARS was insane.

DNF: It hit all the "violence & sex in outlaw bikie gangs" tropes.
Some of the interactions between the two main romantic leads were funny or very well written sensually romantic (painting in the kitchen, bathtub destruction). However I wasn't a fan of the main female character, and actually I'm just not a fan of this generic trope due to the violence and rampaging STD's.
Time to move on from trying to find a non-triggering motorbike-based romance I think.

Someone needs to send out a search party. I got completely lost in Reaper's Fall. I was so lost that I forgot to go to sleep last night. Painter and Melanie were first introduced in Silver Bastards. The potential of love was there teasing me. I had all these ideas. I thought I knew what was going to happen in the book. Boy was I wrong. The book was so much more than I expected. Joanna Wylde out did herself. I cheered Melanie's strength and determination. The secondary characters that surrounded her would good for a laugh. But boy could they be irritating. Painter was a complete man whore. Melanie and Painter became pen pals during his time behind bars. It was a great way to gain understanding into the characters. Painter stayed away upon his release. He knew Melanie deserved better. But Painter couldn't stay away. For the first time in his live he gave himself to a woman. Unfortunately, the club still came first. Melanie had a hard time accepting his devotion to the club. When she needed him most, he wasn't there. The excitement in the book continues. Club business can be scary, thrilling, irritating. Violence is a factor int he book, but I didn't find it to be gory. The sex was hot and believable. My past love of the Reapers and me buying the book. The mouth dropping surprises kept me completely hooked. And then it ended and I am left waiting for the next book to pull me, keep me entertained, and convince me that the characters are real. It takes a talented author to suck me in so completely. Joanna Wylde is one of those authors.
