A second-chance romance told in dual timelines. One timeline takes place 13 years in the past during a summer at sleep away camp while the second, and primary, timeline takes place during present day. You get to see how Piper and Kyle fell in love as kids, the events that drew them apart, and how they found their way back together. Very light steam in this book, so good if you’re looking for more of a PG-13 romance. Loved the female empowerment message shared too!

I enjoyed this book! My favorite KA Tucker is The Simple Wild, but this book stood up and introduces a different dynamic power wise as the lead female is the rich CEO and the lead male is the average struggling joe. I could see where the story was going but there were a few twists introduced towards the end of the book that helped keep it interesting! 5/5 stars!

Loved it! I love the nostalgia and the back story. It was sweet and I loved that Piper was willing to fight for what she wanted in her past and the present. Kyle was sweet and I loved the truths they shared with each other even while they were so young.

3.5. It was fine. Didn't make me cry or scream so I'd consider it average. A little cliche, but overall good.

I wanted to give this 5 stars but couldn’t quite get there. If you ask me why I also can’t quite put my finger on it! It’s the one that got away, rich girl falls for the poor boy from the wrong side of town, second chance arc I enjoy. I enjoyed that there was some depth to their young love but I was surprised by the bribery in general, annoyed by how it came out, and eye roll o the FMC’s reaction when it did. Maybe that’s the sector of this story that took away a star from me

This book gave me all the summer camp feels and was so easy to relate to after being a camp counselor for many years

NOTE TO SELF: don’t read adult books with flashbacks to high school comprising 50% of the content. NOT FOR ME. If I want to read YA, I’ll read YA.
