This is my favourite Stephen King book that i’ve read so far! It was also my first SK book i ever read, i remember thinking “This story is weird asf. Was this guy on drugs when he wrote it. Wtf is happening rn.” And it turns out that, yes, he most likely was, in fact, on drugs.

I also remember thinking that Stephen is the King of horror & story telling for sure, because there was not a moment i wasn’t fully enthralled by this book. And I absolutely love the way he gives characters whole chapters of fully fleshed out backstory just to kill them off in their first sentence back in the present tense. :)

“…When a person stops changing, stops feeling, they die…”

But also far too many unnecessary sexual descriptions thrown in amongst otherwise very tense and mournful scenes, but it’s Stephen King, and it was the 90s.. and he was probably on drugs, and also i crossed them all out on my second read through.

Far more enjoyable the third time around :P

“So it always has been; so shall it be, life sucks, then you die.”
