OMG things just got really really crazy! I am so excited by finding out more about Gretchen's past, and the CORGI! I am such a corgi fan. I'm exasperated/thrilled by her latest escape, too. Far-fetched but man is it more fun when Gretchen is out being all crazy. I loved loved loved this book. I started reading it after dinner and couldn't stop, stayed up really late just gulping it down, and enjoyed every second of it.

Not due to be published until mid-summer 2012 but can't wait, can't wait, can't wait...

And it definitely lived up to Cain's reputation as a top-notch suspense/thriller author. The fifth in the Sheridan/Lowell serial killer series is the best yet and Cain's continuing character development is superb along with the plot and settings (takes place in the area where I live). If you haven't read these, please start with the first book, HEARTSICK. For a "stand-alone", with Gretchen on the periphery of the plot, try THE NIGHT SEASON. I will warn you that these are gruesome and at times stomach-churning, and the latest is probably the most graphic yet with chills galore--but I loved every minute. Superb.

Been listening to this series on audio for a few years now. I always have some problems with it but I've come to really care about the characters. This one had a particularly brutal and upsetting death that honestly made me angry, felt a little bit like turning one character into character building for some others. BUT, I'm still enjoying it and I liked learning a little bit more about the villain of the series.

I can't believe how much I like (I can't really say "enjoy") these ultra-grizzly stories. But Chelsea Cain certainly does know how to spin a tale. Good people...bad people....conflicted people....and people that are just plain nuts....are all represented here. This is a fascinating look into the human mind.

Wow - what a detailed and engrossing read. I felt that I could almost see what was happening (or being remembered) This took a little longer to listen to than I thought because I found myself turning it off when some of the scenes became too real. I also turned it off when the kids where in the car (despite the earbuds and the video games they were engrossed in!)
I really enjoyed this however, I felt compelled to know what would happen next. I will definitely be looking for more by Chelsea Cain - she really brought the story to life. Have to admit - I may have enjoyed this more than a Criminal Minds episode, and I am addicted to those!
(Have to go back and find #1 in this series!)

The 4th book in the series had very little Gretchen. So I was very happy to see more of Gretchen in this 5th book of the Archie and Gretchen series. I definitely recommend reading them in order to fully grasp all the storylines. However, even though Gretchen and Archie are the main characters, Susan and her mom, Bliss, are some of my the best supporting characters I have ever seen. This series is one of the best and I am glad to see that she left it open for more to be added.

5/5 stars!

I think this may become one of my favorites in the Gretchen/Archie series! The plot twists are SPICY - literally making me gasp as I read. There’s so many of them that I didn’t expect which made me want to devour the rest of the book to learn what’s next!

The plot was really well done, in my opinion, with multiple murders to solve. The investigation often through me for a loop because I could never decipher who truly may be the culprit! Aren’t those the best murder mysteries though?

I love that we (the readers) finally get to know more about the Beauty Killer’s past and where she began as a serial killer. There were many secrets uncovered that left me in shock!

Can’t wait to see how the series ends with the next book, [b:Let Me Go|16044959|Let Me Go (Archie Sheridan & Gretchen Lowell, #6)|Chelsea Cain|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1354846777l/16044959._SY75_.jpg|21823172]!

Literally JUST finished this book and have no words. Chelsea Cain really goes there with the descriptions! Archie and Gretchen were back in the full, chaotic force and the twists and turns in this story left me hanging off the edge of the couch! Plus the narrator sounded creepy and crazy too! Added more to the creepiness and suspense!
