A short story which Haslett wrote for The Atlantic fiction issue back in 2005, not long after his award-winning short story collection, You Are Not A Stranger Here, was published. It is on a par with those included in that award-winning volume, a bittersweet coming-of-age story about a mid-Western teenager traveling to NYC to lose his virginity to a hustler he's met online. Not as great as his most recent work, the Pulitzer finalist, Imagine Me Gone, but worth reading nonetheless.
