Ugh. This book is complicated, and I have so many thoughts.
- The ending is wild/confusing. I’m not sure what actually happened, and I don’t know if it was intentional.
- This had a very weird homophobic back story, which was not fun, but it was also the most lasting thing from the whole book because it was just so horrible to read.
- The thriller/scary parts of the book work well, and I really think all the characters work well on paper except for the point above and except for maybe the trans representation. I don’t think I’m the right person to comment on that.
- I really wanted this book to be better than it was, so boo.
