A story about two pathetic and pitiful people who have no business liking each other as friends let alone as anything more.

It was just across the board toxic and uninspired. Yes the concept of only seeing the same day in the life of two people over the span of almost 20 years  is interesting. But that’s where everything nice about this book stops. Both characters lack ambition and drive, they’re quite pathetic: Emma for liking Dexter after one night stand and nothing else for 15 years except some rudeness and disrespect and him for being a waste of space, alcoholic, fuckboy who takes everything and everyone for granted. There was not a single second in this book I thought those two should be together, which lead me to be totally uninvested in the story and what would happen next and honestly the ending made it just worse. Nobody cares in this book about anything so why should I care about them?

Overall, skip it.

Cute. Toxic but true to Britishness circa its era im pretty sure. Like I had a fairly good time. The drunk rinse repeat not so good but that was literally the point. Characters were annoying but in a wholly truthful manner it’s good to see real ppl in books they me fr sometimes. I loved the flashbacks at the end.

This started off boring, then picked up the pace, then regurgitated that ending.
Star-wise it started at 2, when went up to 4, and comfortably settled at 3.
I’m a mixed bag about this book.

Just proof that if your best friend tells you a book is good, you should listen. Excellent excellent character development - I loved it even this book is definitely off-genre for me.

Funny, poignant, happy, sad, thrilling, frustrating. This was a great romantic read.

Beautiful book. Slow story but the writing engulfs you in the main characters lives. Laughed out loud and felt emotional at the end.
