Picked this up as I was browsing at the 2nd-hand store and I thought it would be a good way to get a quick feel for Lovecraft. Even never having read the originals, these rang false for me, as obviously very loose adaptations. None were that interesting, and all felt weirdly truncated.

This collection of adapted HP Lovecraft stories wasn’t something I enjoyed. It made me want to read the original Lovecraft stories again, but I wasn’t impressed with these stories.
Some of them are continuations and they aren’t exact adaptations. But from this I learned that exact Lovecraft stories might not work in this format. I’ll at least doubt any other Lovecraft stories in comic form from here on out.
I say skip this one unless you’re a Lovecraft mega fan. But I for on didn’t like this version of The Alchemist. The Tomb was alright. That’s why this one is 2 stars.

I only enjoyed the illustrations. The four stories were really Meh and made no sense. If they were supposed to be scary they didn’t do a good job.

Mixed bag.
Some of these were quite good, especially [b:The Music of Erich Zann|25639922|Worlds of H.P. Lovecraft #5 The Music of Erich Zann|Steven Philip Jones|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1433113381l/25639922._SX50_.jpg|45456837], some were quite bad (especially [b:The Picture in the House|25640025|Worlds of H.P. Lovecraft #9 The Picture in the House|Steven Philip Jones|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1433114235l/25640025._SX50_.jpg|45456985] which somehow made the point of the story into a sidenote), and the rest were OK, if relatively bland.
And say what you want about the source material, but blandness is definitely a quality it lacks.

Nice and updated treatment to some of Lovecraft short stories. I especially liked [b:The Alchemist|24752276|Worlds of H.P.
