One of the best novels I have read all year. I liked the point of view the story was told in and I really like the main character and I like a book where u can really learn to hate the villain. There were a few twist that keep me interested from start to finish. A definite recommend read.

So could you believe this is a debut? Well it is, and it was really good. I didn’t know what I was getting into when I started this book I didn’t know what I was getting into so I wasn’t expecting it to be as dark as it was. The experience felt similar to Still Beating but following only the woman from the story who went through horrible things. Some parts of it were hard to stomach. The way it played out was interesting going from what was happening and jumping to the aftermath as well. It didn’t feel like a  thriller until I got closer to the book   But it gave all the aspects you would want for it and I really liked this book the story and if you are okay with tougher topics and darker actions you would like this book.

This book is definitely gripping. It kept me turning pages all the way through. I would call it a good distraction, but not much beyond that. Still, quite enjoyable!

I don't want to spoil the book for others so I will try to keep it brief. I might have rated this book higher if it wasn't for a few plot points that didn't ring true to me. First, I found it entirely unbelievable that Annie would "end up" with someone at the end - especially with this person (apparently he didn't care about his job, etc). Second, I had a hard time with the reason WHY Annie was kidnapped...was it not enough that she was kidnapped/tortured for a year? Instead, it seems like the author is really trying to completely destroy her main character's resolve with the reason behind it...

However, I actually liked the way the story was told through her sessions with her therapist. It made it different from the usual crime novels. Annie, as a character, was not as bad as many reviewers claim. While it was hard to relate to the dilemma she found herself in, I think many of her actions were understandable both during and after her abduction...she was not the same person after her abduction, and as readers, I don't know how we could expect her to be.
