I really love this author. This is such a great detailed story and such an amazing plot. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

There was a stretch in the middle where I felt the pacing was slow and my interest waned a little, but it returned no problem and on the whole I really enjoyed this. So far I am enjoying this series more overall than the author’s Book of the Ancestor trilogy, so I hope book three is as good as the first two have been when it comes out!!

I enjoyed the addition of Celcha and Hellot’s storyline (if I misspell names it’s because I listened to this on audiobook, sorry!) and I love how so many things are interconnected throughout this series! There are multiple aha moments where, knowing things from the first book, you understand where things are going or where something came from. The setting and worldbuilding remain the star of the series for me!

I don’t really care about Arpix and Clovis (she’s too abrasive for me to personally like). I wanted more of Evar’s point of view and less of Arpix’s.

The stuff with the king and his guards was horrific and made me angry and disgusted and I hope we get to see that bastard get what he deserves before this is over.

The decisions of different characters in which of three sides of the war they decide to support was intriguing and I’m very curious to see how those different paths move forward and what the fate of the Library will be!

Also, Wentworth. Cats are the best!!
