Okay, so what can I say but thriller, suspense, politics and a very very big dose of military tech that I can’t believe is actually real. Rachel Sexton, is fucking brilliant and innovative, Oh and Micheal Tolland. I love him and Curly too, (in his cock-blocking ignorance) and the President Henry, he genuinely just wanted the best for the country and was just a good guy. Oh and FUCK SENATOR SEDGEWICK SEXTON.

To easy too predict after reading Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. Thankfully, Brown moved away from his of making the most trusted character be the bad guy when he wrote the Lost Symbol.

This was good and made me want to keep reading. But I didn't like how I knew that something was going to be revealed at the end.

So. This book. It is...a book. And, decidedly, not my kind of book. I wish there were more ambiguity, honestly, that the heroes weren't so bright-and-shiny, that the villains weren't mustache-twirlers. I wish that so much of the writing didn't rely on cliches, and that the ending didn't go on for an extra 50 pages longer, and that every revelation weren't repeated ad nauseum.

Still. There are people for whom this works. They will love this. But...not for me. Those three stars are for them.
