This is such a cosy series I randomly come across on audible. Really enjoyed it and this one had a plot twist which caught me off guard and made my jaw drop!

Thoroughly recommend!

Sometimes the unrelenting self-deprecation of the main character, Allison, crosses over the line to annoying, but the series is fine as a light read.

The more I read from this series, the more I love it. And was caught off guard with a couple points of this story. Paul and Maxie are seriously the best ghosts I’ve read.

Enjoyable read. There were two mystery plot lines: solving the murder of Maxie's ex-husband, and finding Paul's former almost-fiance. The dead ex-husband took center stage, and unfortunately, it dragged on a little long. I had it figured out well before Alison, and I started to get annoyed with her constant floundering about what to do next. The Paul story was much more interesting to me, and I wish it had gotten some more page time. And while I didn't like Alison's ex-husband, which is clearly the point, I did enjoy that thread, too.

This book did have a good ending that raised my final, overall enjoyment of the book.

3.5 still nice and cosy little mystery however this one was very predictable. Still enjoying my light reading for January but now looking forward to some more substantial reads next month.
