Amaia Salazar has been gifted ever since she was a young girl. She see's what nobody else notices, and it's that talent that has caught the attention of the FBI. They need her attention to detail to catch a serial killer dubbed The Composer. A man who finds his victims after disasters like tornadoes and hurricanes have struck. Salazar quickly finds a pattern to how the killer chooses his next family, and she notices there is a violin left at every crime scene. Hurricane Katrina is set to hit Louisiana, and that's where Salazar and her team are heading in hopes to catch The Composer in the act.
There is also another mystery that one of the cops from Louisiana is struggling to solve. A gang of sorts kidnap young girls at night for trafficking, so not only are they trying to catch a killer they are also looking for the missing teenage girls all in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Aside from tracking a serial killer we get a glimpse into Amaia's past. She was removed from her house where her parents and sisters lived, because her mom was trying to kill her. Unfortunately her dad is too weak to help her so he takes Amaia to live with his sister. Her mother! WOW! She doesn't want to harm her other daughters so why Amaia?
This was such a good read! Anything that mentions the FBI, Quantico, and serial killer has my utmost attention. It was interesting to read about the behind the scenes action of an FBI investigation. Throwing in a real life natural disaster gave a certain chill to the story. I also like the two different cases, although at first it didn't make sense. I wonder if there will be another book based on the gang that kidnapped the girls, because I felt that was left wide open.
Thank you TLC Book Tours, TLC Diversity, Author Dolores Redondo and Amazon Publishing for my #copy. This one is available now!
