I enjoyed 'Heroes' every bit as much as 'Mythos'. Lively, engaging and humorous retellings of the Greek myths that teach you more than you think as you read. Sure, there are a lot of names and relations and so much incest and godly intervention to muddy the waters, but the main plots and stories are always clear.

I do sometimes find the joke parts a bit too long or repetitive. I enjoy when the narrative is padded out with description and dialogue and emotion, but at times I did think, okay yes yes that's funny now back to the point please.

Am I allowed to say that about Stephen Fry? Probably not.

I loved the summary as well. Hearing how Fry rationalises some of the stories etc. Really enjoyed that section.

I will happily await the next book in the series.

I prefer traditional stories of gods rather than heroes

But I do love stories that are based on myths and heroes like Percy Jackson
