The last time I read these books, I was in middle school. These hold up, especially if you’re a Tolkien fan or a Celtic lore buff. The characters are HILARIOUS. I can’t believe Disney botched the movie so badly. Very fun, brief, adventurous read.

Despite having to read this online due to the Covid-19 shutdown of my library I found this book to be quite enjoyable. It is a wonderful fantasy full of adventure similar to the Lord of the Rings series. The characters are fun to follow in each chapter as they continue to fall into trouble and yet work their way out of each time. I would recommend this book to any reader 8 and older, especially those that relish a grand adventure. Hoping the rest of the series is as good.

A very solid kid's fantasy and beginning to a series. Audiobook narrator had fantastic accents. A little dated at times, but overall a good foundation.

I wasn't expecting much from this relativly thin book, but it surprised me(in a good way). Especially the second half of the book. This book is definetly plot-driven and, let's be honest Taran was sometimes so dumb (as Eilonwy always pointed out).

This book reads like the love child of Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Narnia. I liked the use of Welsh mythology but it felt incredibly derivative and I didn’t particularly like any of the characters as they seemed more like archetypes than actual people.
