extremely helpful for someone with adhd+a lot of deep seated issues with clutter. i’ve listened to dana’s podcast for over a year now and am really glad i finally made a point to read the book. it’s extremely accessible and i immediately ordered a paper copy for my mom after finishing it- i really think she will vibe with the non-judgemental (and funny) nature of it. starting on decluttering at the speed of life soon. :)

I'd recommend this book over Decluttering at the Speed of Life just cause it has less about children/spouses who are as much work as children.

They're basically the same book through, numerous times I had to double check that I hadn't already read this book. I fully believe full pages were duplicated between each book.

Sometimes the simple truths are the most profound: just wash the dishes.

Unlike Dana's book on decluttering, I'm not the intended audience for this book - I'm not quite as much a slob as she's targeting.

That said, if you need inspiration for getting on top of managing your home, its an easy read, with clear and easy to implement processes to help you figure out getting on top of things.

This was a quick, easy audible listen. It was motivating and helpful. I especially like her idea that not only is each room in your house a “container” but your house itself is one. In thinking this way, if there isn’t enough room in these “containers” then you need to get rid of some things. She inspired me to not consider decluttering as a big, overwhelming project (where you have to empty your entire laundry room and only put a few items back in) but instead just doing a little decluttering each day eventually adds up to major progress. If we see it as a huge project it feels too daunting and will never get done. Her advice helped me get rid of a lot of clutter I’ve been “saving” for years.

There were a couple of good tips, but not every blog should be a book. Some writing does better as a blog, and I suspect this is one of those cases.
