This was a great ending to a great series! The story of this third book was paced fairly well - there is a lot happening at the end of the book, but instead of being the last 50 pages or even last 100 pages, it’s like the last 200+ (very large book) that is action-packed. There is a lot happening without it feeling like it’s all being shoved at me rapid-fire.
The characters are at their best in this book- Alouette is finally figuring herself out, Chatine is learning to find her true self without the “Fret Rat”, and Marcellus is fighting his hardest against the General

to earn their victory. Cerise was such an interesting point of view, getting to see the inner thoughts of a human-turned-cyborg.
The most annoying thing is Marcellus and Chatine’s back and forth, will they won’t they, relationship. Everyone is kissing everyone and I’m STRESSED
The ending was satisfying, and felt well-earned. I was kind of hoping for a more epic showdown with Cèsar, seeing as he hadn’t shown his face for a looong while, but I also think what happened to him is still justified. Someone who would have wanted to have an epic death, being refused that right. Boo you Bonnefaçon
Overall probably the best in the trilogy, and a great ending

This took my forever to finish because of the length and then it had holds so I had to check it out again. I do love a good retelling, and this definitely had a lot of the Les Mis elements I was looking for, but I have to admit as much as I have always wanted a happy ending for Eponine, this wasn't the ending I was rooting for by the end of this book. Loved this series though!

Just Shy of 4 stars. I think Marcellus as a character could have been written better. I think in an effort to make some of the females seem strong, the men came across weaker. Overall I liked the book and think it was a solid trilogy.
