Draw a family tree while reading this. I feel like it would help you understand it better.

The cover doesn’t match the content of this book at all.
The synopsis is also misleading. There is very little game play in the book. It’s mostly flashbacks. It also gets pretty confusing by the end on who belongs to who. You almost need a cheat sheet. It let was a good concept but it didn’t have a strong enough point of view.

Actual 3.5 ish. Very good story telling and writing. I'm a bit skeptical as to the motive tho

I found the writing engaging sometimes, and dragging others. Honestly, the fact that this all boiled down to just a woman’s strange obsession with a house and nothing more was extremely disappointing. Everything was wrapped up in a neat little bow at the end which I suppose some people might like but I found irritating. All of the twists made the story less interesting and by the end I was just bored. It’s a unique experience to be the most engaged at the beginning and lose interest at every point where you are supposed to become more hooked. By the end it felt like a soap opera, kind of silly when the motivations are put out in the open and it all just comes down to who had a baby with who.

Not a terrible book, and I can see why some would love it, but really didn’t do it for me I am sorry to say.

this book is a mash up of Klara and the Sun and a murder mystery cliche with a very silly ending
