The only thing that rivals married romance is 40+ romance ❤️ I adored this story (sent marginally in Penny Reid’s Knitting in the City universe) about two almost-50 Chicagoans reuniting after being separated since high school. It’s set in a knitting store (LOVE) and features all the realities of middle aged love and romance. I wish the whole series was by Nix rather than the rotation of authors that Smartypants Romance uses. (available on Kindle Unlimited)

I am so mad in love with Mad About Ewe. So good. So tender and so sweet. Mike is such a book boyfriend. The story reminds me a bit of Part Of Your World by Miss Jiminez.

I can connecr with Dawn. Her character is strong and take no BS in life. What she endures is just so sad and frustrating. Enter Mike the perfect hero. Their story is such gentle, sweet, vulnerable and caring. Miss Nix nails it down. I do not want the story to end.

So good.

I really enjoyed this story, especially that it was an older couple (close to my age). There were parts that I was easily distracted from and the ended was abrupt, but I will definitely be reading more from this author (this was the first book I had read by her).

I really loved Mad About Ewe!! Dawn is in her late 40s - divorced and pursuing her passion of owning and running a yarn store now that her kids are grown up and living on their own. She’s surprised one day when Mike comes into her store - the same guy she had a major crush on back in high school. He looks great and after a short conversation she invites him to get dinner and he declines - reminding her of how embarrassed she was after his rejection 30 years ago.

There are so many things I loved about this story. I loved main characters who are fully formed adults with life experience making them who they are now. I loved the glimpses of characters I knew from the Knitting in the City books. I LOVED Dawn’s yarn store and that this is a book with a clear love of knitting - calling out specific yarns and knitting patterns. And of course I loved the romance - so good!!

Thank you to the author Susannah Nix for the opportunity to read and review an advance copy of the ebook.

Predictable romance? Absolutely! But I liked the characters. And I liked that they weren’t 20 year olds but actually middle age, with middle age issues to think and worry about.
Open door if you care about that sort of thing.

2nd chance romance about a cocky boy who rebuffed the quirky but sweet girl because she wasn’t popular. Now they are 30 years out from graduation and both are divorced.
Love these two and how they reconnect as grown ups.
