For me, the book was an important help in questioning my own story and asking myself how I want to be, do I want to expose myself to my own experiences and blindly transfer them to others or do I want to break the vicious circle.

While it ended up being more of a parenting book than what i would’ve liked it to be i think it will be more beneficial for actual parents or parents to be (which i am neither of) than it is for people just trying to better understand their parents and their behaviors.
It was informative nonetheless.
I may or may not have skipped a chapter.

Closer to 4.5. Some really useful insights and tips to reflect on your childhood and relationships - even if you don't have kids! It helped me articulate some of my behaviours/feelings, as well as family and sibling dynamics.

A wonderful book about things parents wish they knew right before they became parents. A great 101 guide to becoming a better parent.
