Where o where is the cultish fandom for this amazing novel!! I mean come on, it blew my mind! The elegance and poetry in the writing, mixed with motherhood, and apocalypse, myth, mayhem, this book has everything!! It warmed my heart to read an author who writes from a fresh honest and real perspective. Plus it was thrilling, my heart raced and my eyes could not drink the words quick enough.

I just got bored and realized that if I stopped reading I wouldn’t be stressed trying to figure out what happened.

This confirms it; the only apocalyptic fiction I want to read is indigenous.

It was a decent read. I enjoyed the immersion into indigenous culture and myth. It wasn’t a page turner for me, but it was a decent story.

A mostly rollicking read, although a little clunky in places, I think due to the author's ambition for the novel exceeding the writing. The male characters are somewhat flat, especially compared to the female characters, and it detracts from the overall story. Still, you could do a lot worse to select something engrossing to read by the pool.
