The plot twists weren't that surprising to me like i kinda see through what's happening which makes reading this book boring to me

I have a real soft spot for the seemingly-omnipotent gentleman thief, just I have for his opposite, the seemingly-omnipotent gentleman detective. In short, Sherlock Holmes. Being that smart, that observant, and that possessed of weird and wonderful skills and knowledge is hot. So it's a little surprising I'd never gotten around to breaching the life story and adventures of Arsène Lupin before now.

I do wish the reader were sometimes privy to more of the mechanics of how Lupin accomplishes Amazing Thing, as we are in the tale of his escape from prison. I suppose the difference there may be cultural - the French gentleman genius perhaps shows off differently to his English colleague/opponent. Insert appropriate Gallic shrug here. Otherwise, this was everything I hoped it would be, and I look forward to reading further into the Lupin canon.

Lupin is insane with all the twists and turns he does in his adventures. I can see why many people are inspired by him he is the original gentleman thief.

"Tudo isso tinha ares de prodígio, trazia a marca humorística de Arsène Lupin, ladrão, que seja, mas nem por isso menos diletante. Trabalhava por gesto e vocação, vá lá, mas também para se divertir. Parecia um dramaturgo, entendendo-se com a peça para que ele mesmo escreveu e, nos bastidores, rindo a bandeiras despregadas das piadas e situações que imaginou."
