i think it made me more hopeful for my adult life as an autistic person who is queer and just turned 18. I can have rich social life, and I can not overcome the difficulties with autism but work with them. It was nice to see another autistic queer person have a rich social life, and be queer and happy. They have a fiance and hobbies. I want to be like that

Though there is a large correlation between autistic people and queer people, it's sometimes challenging to find books from that lived experiences. I am grateful to Dale, as a gay autistic trans woman, for putting her story out there to share what those intersections look like for her.
A lot of Dale's personal story is emotionally heavy and tragic, but she ends the book on a positive and hopeful note.
