The book as a whole felt a little underwhelming for an arc finale- it felt more like a Book 2 or 4 than 6. But the last chapter was really well-written and a nice way to summarise the events that have happened through Dawn of the Clans, which made my feelings about this book as a whole a little better.

Good lord, it's been a while since I've full-on sobbed at a book's ending. I am BROKEN!! But man, what a series! I'm so glad this prequel arc exists, and I'm sad to leave these characters behind.

This book was a little all over the place and I wasn’t completely satisfied with the ending, but it was much more enjoyable than the fifth DotC book! The cats made smart decisions and tried their best and the emotional scenes were really well done!
