Personally loved it although I get the criticism that the parts not involving Nao were too jarringly mundane. I liked those parts a lot. This has been my favourite novel for a long time. It involves a lot of concepts I did not previously know about and it felt very relevant to teenage me, (being part Japanese in a different country nd all)

This book was exquisite. Also, the copy I got from the library had the most perfect page floppiness which made my reading experience that much better.

Loved it. I was hoping for a different ending, but it would have been too simple.

I listened to the author-narrated audio book of this title and loved it. I love Ruth Ozeki’s inventive stories and evocative writing . This is the second book of hers I’ve read; afew years ago I read The Book of Form and Emptiness which I couldn’t put down either. In both books she deals with meta concepts of reading and writing in creative ways. Her characters are fully fleshed, which is sometimes shockingly personal. I love the fact that crows are a motif in both, and I wonder if that continues in her other books as well.
