These poems are delicate, exquisite, elegant; and yet there is something sour lurking beneath. A real grotesque, a real mystery: we have a locked room, a graveyard, a walled garden, and a true Gothic heroine -- Quinlan's Laura is a Don Quixote figure, made from the stories she's consumed.
