Amazing

Urgh I forgot about that ending! It gets me everytime. I forgot how fast paced this book was. So much happens and there are so many twists that you never know what to expect. The character growth is amazing - especially Austin’s. Can’t wait to continue the story.

Even though this is not the emotional read I had hoped it would be, I'm really enjoying this series and I'm still looking forward to reading the next one and the next one and the next one. I especially like that the books are easy reads, that the paperbacks have a lovely font that is very pleasing for the eyes and I really love the new covers starring the guys. I'm especially curious where the plot will go eventually, because the possibilities are endless.

Since this is a six book series, the build up is taking quite some time. Although there is a lot happening in this book, it still feels like there's so much more to come in future books! Every time questions get answers and enemies get taken care of, something new comes up and it feels like we're starting at the beginning again. The plot therefore sometimes seems a little slow, but I'm simply leaning back and enjoying the ride.

And it's for sure an amazing ride! Since Kit now sort of knows what she is and what she can do, it's exciting to see her use her powers and discover new sides of it. In this book we're learning a lot about her healing powers, the effect it has on people with something supernatural in their genes and what genes the guys are carrying. Because it's of course quite clear that all those boys are something and that it's a matter of time for it to come out and break free.

Although Wesley is by far my favorite of the guys, I was also quite happy that Austin and Kit had some kind of breakthrough. We already knew for a few books that something more was brewing, but in this book Kit and Austin finally talk through their issues and explain each other what has been going on and why they've acted the way they've acted. It's not like they're all of a sudden there yet, but especially the choice made in the finale will change a lot.

I can't wait to see it all play out in the next book!

Wow…just wow. I am loving this series so much, it’s crazy. It’s very nonstop, which I don’t mind, and the relationship building is amazing. I love that it is different for every character and they are all individuals instead of being lumped together (which happened way too much in books like these). I’m giving it four stars because I’m not a huge fan of miscommunication tropes of any kind - they always lead to so much drama for no reason - and the secret keeping in this book was annoying to me.

I'm not a fan of hate/love relationships (involving either family, friends, lovers). Also, I think this is where the slow burn starts to look more like inability to be succint. I noticed as well that although the main character is learning new things, she keeps behaving as if she didn't know how things work, which for me is a way of portraying the dumb woman (for the purpose of having a plot)
