THGTTG should not be written by anyone who isn't Douglas Adams. Full stop. I had to try this as a completionist but if they release anything else in this world not somehow unearthed in Adams's files then I'll be passing.

Well, Eoin Colfer, you tried. Honestly I think that Colfer is a perfectly decent author, and I read [b:Artemis Fowl|249747|Artemis Fowl (Artemis Fowl, #1)|Eoin Colfer|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1327945104s/249747.jpg|1334778] and its sequels multiple times when I was a kid. But when you're trying so hard to emulate a great writer like Douglas Adams, you're bound to fall short in comparison. There were some perfectly witty moments in this book, but they all felt like somebody was trying too hard to land a punchline. It's not a totally worthless book, but you're safe stopping after book 5 (or even, in my humble opinion, after book 3!)
