It takes a lot for me to give a lower rating to a book. I was pretty disappointed because I feel like the second book in a series should have a lot of action and this felt more like set up for the third book. Yes, towards the end things picked up but it happened so quickly and was resolved just as fast that I felt like I was watching an season of the walking dead. Iā€™m still intrigued enough to grab the third book but not as excited as I was about the second

Watching Fallon grow and battle her feelings on being the chosen one and wanting to be a normal girl is so real. It doesn't matter that this story is seeped with legends and magic and the post apocalyptic world, nora builds characters that we can all relate to.

I listened to this book on Audible. Before reading (or listening) to this book, you really need to read/listen to Year One, the first book in the series. In Of Blood and Bone, Nora Roberts continues the story with Fallon Swift learning to use all the power available to her as The One. She is building an army to defeat the forces of evil - whether magical or not. The characters are fleshed out and we learn more about what it means to be The One and get some idea of the journey that Fallon is on and what she must do to save the world.
