There’s something about these 3 peculiar sister that just enraptured my heart. The way Betty trusted herself and did what she had to do to save her sisters. The way the adults were present and although absent for most of the drama, had a genuine reason for not being there to allow the girls to get up to their usual mischief.

I’ll admit I’m going to miss Charlie and her passion for animals and sweets. Fliss and her confusing teenage ways and Betty who was logical, inquisitive and always put her family and especially her sisters first. I loved how accurate the tones of these characters were on page no matter what adventure we faced.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again I truly believe Michelle Harrison could write some seriously amazing YA or adult stories that are twisty dark character driven stories that capture readers. I’ll however choose to be thankful that we got 3 wonderful and beautiful books, inside and out.

The third instalment in the ongoing adventures of the Widdershin sisters starts with the promise of a fresh start and brand new discoveries for this trio, but they seem to attract trouble wherever they go. From ghosts and spells, invisible rats and the obligatory do-or-die climax, Michelle Harrison hits all the perfect notes in this rambunctious, rollicking ride of a read. Aimed at young readers, it has enough heart to charm and cheer up the crusty old ones like me.
