oh I feel sick to my stomach finishing this book. It’s an interesting and depressing and unfortunately accurate view of power and the things people do to acquire and keep power. I was happy that we got to see more of Venka in this one, although I understand that the overwhelming amount of male characters is a statement in and of itself.

The Poppy War series keeps getting better- this book is an unrelenting ride through the horrors of continued war and it's aftermath. The story is gripping, and I enjoyed diving back into the world with familiar characters. A great read for lovers of Game of Thrones.
