This book started off great but the writing and characterizations got noticeably obnoxious towards the end, just unnecessarily convoluted and self important. The mystery and procedural were very intriguing and unpredictable. I'll keep reading, but I have complaints. The romance between Alice and Cap was so BIZARRE! So unnecessary! And Cap's constant urge to smell women was creepy and weird.... I want to see more of them as a duo but not romantically. That was WEIRD!
