"Snowfall's wings ached from flying all day, but she felt lighter than she could remember feeling in forever. As though her scales were made of moonlight, shining through the dark clouds that had been around her."

The reason is because, It was not as action packed as the other Wings of Fire books

It was a very cute book and provided some interesting insight into the minds of several characters while also showing amazing character growth in the protagonist of this book. She starts off as a paranoid, very anxious young new ruler who is extremely unsure of herself with a very opinionated isolationist mindset but learns empathy and becomes a more accepting dragon. It was a very touching story, plus we got to learn more about the scavengers which was also an interesting development. At first, I thought it felt more like a filler book because it didn't actually add much on its own to the main storyline of events going on the other continent. But I see how it was necessary to tie the two together, and while using a magic item to teach a lesson is a bit tropey, it worked and wasn't done in a terrible way. Quick read, very excited for the next book.
