Just too cutesy. Even the bad guys are silly and not dangerous.

This volume picked up the pacing with more plot and even some additional characters. I am really interested to see how Nora will play into future volumes, but had a really hard time delineating the other characters (mostly villains?) introduced--the art styles made all the characters look very similar and there were also a couple of spreads that I was just plain confused on what was being portrayed, despite rereading several times. However, I did really enjoy the elements of world-building that were introduced, and the raising of stakes over Mia's magical usage problems. Definitely will keep reading this series and would recommend for middle school and older!
