I liked the first book out of the series best. It was okay but I found it took a long time to get through because it didn't hold my interest as well as the first one or second.

The final in a wonderfully written trilogy this story brings together some of my favorite things. Reliance on someone that you barely know and fighting for what you believe in while conquering yourself. While I did get a tad bored through some of it most of the book follows the same format and writing style as the first two. This makes it an easy read that can be done all in one sitting. You will find yourself swept into the world and enjoying the main characters while rooting for them.
Perfect for fans of the Chronicles of Narnia.

I was really bored with all of the war stuff but I really love this series. I will definitely be giving it another try soon.

So much happens in the finale of the trilogy. The war between Austria and Hungary starts in Ernest, with both Croatia, Romania, and Russia joining Austria. The prethian army hides in wait to take over the remaining world.
We start this book with Matyas being reunited with Anna, now both seek to rescue Noeme from the prethians. Matyas finally accepts his role as tante, Anna begins to learn what it truly means to be a chimera, and they are up against the biggest threat yet.

You’ll want some tissues for the end of this book. The only thing is that I feel a few characters were killed off unnecessarily, or just so quickly that the deaths seemed meaningless and just to progress the story. Of course the deaths are tragic, but it just feels that they were rushed and that the author didn’t really take enough time to make the readers feel it and be sad. The plot just moved right along, and the deaths didn’t really get the moment they deserved.brittradomski's review

This is the final book of the Blood Rose Rebellion series. I loved this series! It was historical fiction with magic, romance, and a full complex cast of characters. This book was a good ending to a great series. I highly recommend this trilogy!

A good conclusion to a very interesting, entertaining historical fantasy series.

I really enjoy all the history and magic being mushed together. I think that is my "thing" right now. I especially love the history that isn't focused on Western Europe, because I get to learn about cultures I am less familiar with. Also MAGIC.
Short review time - so basically I was anxious, then sad, then relieved, the surprise-sad, then grateful, then worried, then happy, then sad for real, then bittersweet, then the end. Does that help? :-)
This story wraps things up beautifully, but it isn't a "neat" package at the end. There is joy and sorrow in real life, and this book, excepting the magic, is REAL. War is dirty and messy and loud and horrible and this book and the story it tells is dirty and messy and loud and horrible, but the relationships (not only romantic) forged in this fire are for LIFE. Those bonds don't break.
I don't want to say much more, because this is the end of a trilogy, and I really don't even like spoiling things from previous books if I can help it. But if you like history and magic and war and strong female leads, then please check this series out. I promise you won't be disappointed.
