Bought this for my wife (who is a Montessori preschool teacher) because I thought the illustrations looked cool in a 'preview' I saw of it. I will say I don't know that the story makes a great deal of 'sense' -- although it's not really supposed to. The poem that is the story didn't really wow me, but it was the impetus for a lot of fun, dynamic illustrations that I really loved, even if I don't really get why the characters were doing what they were doing. Well, that is to say, I understood the end goal, but it seems they went to a lot of unnecessary work, especially the birds, but kudos to them for helping out.

It’s so pretty!

The Art: Gorgeous! I love the flow of the color scheme throughout the entire book. It makes you want to curl up in front of a fire with your furry family members.

The Story: So sweet and rhythmic with its rhymes. While some words maybe too large or hard to sound out for kids learning to read, the relationship of words in each sentence may help them to recognize them in the future. A hard copy is all I want for Christmas!

Bright Winter Night was a free book that I got for November's Amazon Prime reading freebies. This was a decent children's book that did have some beautiful art and poetic prose.

like a Christmas card

This is a very short children’s book as animals travel through the forest to reach the Northern Lights. Each page is a wonderful winter science to delight all ages. Will make an excellent holiday/Christmas gift. Cheers!

A truly sweet story of woodland animals coming together to venture out in the middle of winter to see something spectacular! The story, as told through lovely rhyming, tells of friendship, excitement, awe, and wonder. This is just a beautiful book! The illustrations by Ashling Lindsay are captivating and adorable. The story itself is wonderful and loving. You will be captivated by the entire book in the cold winter months!
