Not much focused on the sport, this is a mostly character driven book. The cliffhanger had me so hooked, I didn’t realize it was the end of the book. We still got a few ways to go with the character, but I love it so far and it’s not a dark RH series. Each character has their own issues and I love that in the writing.

Good start to the series. The tension between them all is so strong, especially with Decker. Cannot wait to get some more of Kylian though! Hot and nerdy? Yes please!

I would die for Kylian. He must be protected at all costs. I love him.

How she ended up there was stupid, but I'll overlook it. I love the banter and the dynamics, and Kylian.

Rep: MC with autism, MC with lupus, MC with temporary disability, MC with rheumatoid arthritis

TW: panic attack, sexual content, kidnapping, alcohol consumption, vomiting, injury detail; mentions death of a parent, parental neglect

This book had me hooked from the first chapter.... I love that all the characters were completely different from one another and very diverse.  It was light hearted and funny in parts but also serious and captivating in others. Absolutely loved the themes of this book and the spice was just the right amount in my opinion.

Tell me why I absolutely devoured this book in one sitting?? I picked it up and next thing you know I had finished this whole thing. 😩

I love me an entertaining RH read. For the vibes and the fact that one of them looks like he stepped out of a punk rock concert: mwah. Honestly, I see the Warped inspiration, I see the vision.
I think the drama is engaging, of course there's no studying involved in a sports romance set in college, but there are sports moments so a win's a win!

I cannot fully conclude how I like all of the men in this - I like 2 so far so that's something.

I’m so invested in this drama though, I crave it like a kinder bueno 🤌

I LOVED THIS BOOK and am so looking forward to the next one. Even though there was a warning at the beginning about that nauseating cliffhanger, I still wasn’t expecting as much of a gut punch as it was. So shame on me for underestimating.

The pacing of the book is great - I didn’t ever feel like I was being dragged. I’m not a super big football fan and I don’t know a whole lot of the technical aspect of the game; but I actually grasped it while reading. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a whole lot description wise with what was there, but I felt like it still flowed and I was able to follow along without trouble.

Josephine is a kickass FMC. Her snark and compassion -- unmatched ✨💋
She’s a phenomenal character to follow over the course of the story. Although you don’t get to see/find out fully her backstory yet, the glimpses and hints are hard-hitting. I think her strength and willingness to be vulnerable throughout the story really makes her pop off the page. I love her “don’t take shit” attitude. Overall, I enjoyed getting to read her interactions with the guys and I appreciate how each relationship develops at its own pace rather than all at once.

As for the guys:

Locke is a fun character - he’s a bit of a twerp, but I do love him. (Warning: Piercings 😏🥵)

I’m obsessed with the emotional bond between Josephine and Kylian. I love that she sees him as her safe space. The storm scene definitely was giving me Haruhi and Hikaru vibes (sneaking in that OHSHC reference) so I was definitely grinning.

Decker 🥰 swoon! He’s an asshole but I’m a sucker for “taking care of each other” scenes. So I hit the jackpot with their double whammy.

Kendrick is an absolute GRUMP, but getting to see that lighter side with his sisters was so beautiful and I’m looking forward to seeing how he’ll develop further.

Overall thoughts: Absolutely phenomenal start to a series and I am so freaking excited to read the next one. September literally cannot come soon enough - and when it does, well Happy Birthday to me! 🎉

Sending a huge thank you to the author not only for writing this but also for the Advanced Reader copy!!
