I would die for Kylian. He must be protected at all costs. I love him.

How she ended up there was stupid, but I'll overlook it. I love the banter and the dynamics, and Kylian.

Rep: MC with autism, MC with lupus, MC with temporary disability, MC with rheumatoid arthritis

TW: panic attack, sexual content, kidnapping, alcohol consumption, vomiting, injury detail; mentions death of a parent, parental neglect

Grab this book if you enjoy Foodball Romance, Why Choose, Forced Proximity, One Bed, and Dirty Talk. Skip this book if you dislike cliffhangers. Just kiddingā€¦ donā€™t skip it, the cliffhanger is well worth it! I couldnā€™t stop thinking about this story after I closed the pages.

I really enjoyed that Joey has such a different relationship with each of the men. Her relationship with them is complex from the very beginning and her force co-habitation doesnā€™t help matters any.

The best part of this whole book however is the top tier dirty talk and itā€™s not just from the men. šŸ„µšŸ„µšŸ„µ

I LOVED THIS BOOK and am so looking forward to the next one. Even though there was a warning at the beginning about that nauseating cliffhanger, I still wasnā€™t expecting as much of a gut punch as it was. So shame on me for underestimating.

The pacing of the book is great - I didnā€™t ever feel like I was being dragged. Iā€™m not a super big football fan and I donā€™t know a whole lot of the technical aspect of the game; but I actually grasped it while reading. Donā€™t get me wrong, it wasnā€™t a whole lot description wise with what was there, but I felt like it still flowed and I was able to follow along without trouble.

Josephine is a kickass FMC. Her snark and compassion -- unmatched āœØšŸ’‹
Sheā€™s a phenomenal character to follow over the course of the story. Although you donā€™t get to see/find out fully her backstory yet, the glimpses and hints are hard-hitting. I think her strength and willingness to be vulnerable throughout the story really makes her pop off the page. I love her ā€œdonā€™t take shitā€ attitude. Overall, I enjoyed getting to read her interactions with the guys and I appreciate how each relationship develops at its own pace rather than all at once.

As for the guys:

Locke is a fun character - heā€™s a bit of a twerp, but I do love him. (Warning: Piercings šŸ˜šŸ„µ)

Iā€™m obsessed with the emotional bond between Josephine and Kylian. I love that she sees him as her safe space. The storm scene definitely was giving me Haruhi and Hikaru vibes (sneaking in that OHSHC reference) so I was definitely grinning.

Decker šŸ„° swoon! Heā€™s an asshole but Iā€™m a sucker for ā€œtaking care of each otherā€ scenes. So I hit the jackpot with their double whammy.

Kendrick is an absolute GRUMP, but getting to see that lighter side with his sisters was so beautiful and Iā€™m looking forward to seeing how heā€™ll develop further.

Overall thoughts: Absolutely phenomenal start to a series and I am so freaking excited to read the next one. September literally cannot come soon enough - and when it does, well Happy Birthday to me! šŸŽ‰

Sending a huge thank you to the author not only for writing this but also for the Advanced Reader copy!!
