Maybe better as a book? It was kinda hard to listen to while doing something else. It felt like I had to concentrate to get what was being told. Now I feel like I barely remember anything...
But I'm guessing that if I would have read it, it would have been better

A genuinely inspiring read. The journey is amazing. The insights regarding what a human can push through are great. Heart warming and funny. A recommended read.

This dude swam around Great Britain and then wrote a book about it. It appears he is not a human being.

I had already been exposed to Ross' impressive feats of strength, endurance and stamina through his employing of sports science in his previous book (and also following his YouTube and Instagram profiles), so I knew already he's a pretty interesting guy. I couldn't wait to delve into this one.

Essentially a journal, this book documents his jawdropping feat of swimming around the British Isles in 157 days, combining his daily swimming procedure with 'stoic sport science' -- a self-coined philosophy that fuses the teachings of ancient Greek and Roman figures on various lessons on resilience and finding your strength with modern day sports science.

His goofball sense of humour is contagious and adds a lot of colour to his personality in getting through his seemingly impossible sea trials (he even talks about the science of the smile and the act of laughing as vital to physiological physiological performance in sport, which is a pretty amazing concept).

Essentially, the book reads like an academic exploration of the body and mind's physical ability. Its written for the lay person but I think sports scientists would also be astonished by Ross' story.

All in all, It's a sport science adventure story. My kinda book.
