Trent Dalton knows how to write characters that you root for with every fibre of your being. He is also a master of writing realistic Australian villains (monsters).

Brisbane is my home, which I left in 2023 and am missing dearly. Trent understands the enchantment of Brisbane and makes it shine for all, just as he did in Boy Swallows Universe. This novel brought me home in a time when I needed it most.

I experienced every emotion on the spectrum reading this beautiful book. A book filled with tragedy, wonder, community, magic, hope and love. A book about answering the most important question: ‘who am I?’
