What with the cutesy premise, cutesy plot, cutesy character names, cutesy cameos, and cutesy epigraphs, it was all a little too gimmicky for me.

meh... not my type of read. I liked it more as a mystery novel than a comedy - it was just too dry for my taste.

Just couldn't get into it. There were some good jokes but too few and far between

Can I just say, how cool is nursery rhyme crime? Fantastic! Over the top fun fantasy with just enough realism to be grounded. I hope he comes out with more in this series soon!

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall…but was it an accident, suicide or possibly murder? That is the question that detectives Jack Spratt and Mary Mary must answer in the first book of Ffordes new Nursery Crime series. Although the book at times lags because of introductions, it’s a very clever start to the new series.
