I have to say I found the ending to be a little too... outside the box, I guess? Nevertheless, I didn't see it coming, so that's good.

I might have misunderstood, but I think in an earlier chapter from Nick's POV while he was chatting to Antoine, he was wondering about what happened to Ben and if maybe he'd left with Dominique? It doesn't make sense if Nick was one of the people who carried what was supposedly Ben's body, because he'd be pretty sure the guy was dead. Again, I might have misread that and if so, just ignore this bit.

I enjoyed the book overall.

Foley does it again! It is another super good read for me. Do I think things wrapped up a little too nicely in the end? Yes, but I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting.
Def check trigger/content warnings tho

The Paris Apartment is an interesting thriller. While I quite enjoyed it, there were issues with the pacing - it lagged greatly in the middle - and the overall plot was a little spotty. It's also a thriller that would not necessarily hold up on a reread, as the major plot twist completely changes the entire story. It was a good thriller, if a little confusing. The ending wrapped up almost too quickly, and there were several questions at the end that went unanswered.

You know how when you're a kid you can't sleep because you're afraid of the monsters under the bed? What happens if you start to suspect the monster might be you? Where do you hide?

Three words: Family. Secrets. Creepy.

I know this book has a lot of negative reviews, but I liked it. I didn't guess the second plot twist. I must admit the second twist was a little out there, but I guess I'll let it slide because I did enjoy the book for the most part.

One thing is sure: all residents of this apartment are crazy.

I only knocked off some points when rating this only bc some things about what unfolded in this book made me feel a little icky 😅

Overall it was very well done, the weaving of each character's telling of the story from their pov was very well timed and laid out perfectly. Lots of twists. I added the content warnings but most of them aren't explicitly described, just mentioned or alluded to. This book wasn't graphic, save for a couple dark moments necessary to the plot. But I was hooked from the beginning! And the main character was very smart about what to do so it made the book that much more exciting.

When Jess’ half-brother disappears from his apartment the same evening she arrives on his doorstep, she immediately knows something is wrong. As Jess starts poking around his very posh apartment, things don’t necessarily add up. And his neighbors definitely don’t appreciate her meddling. Can she figure out what the hell happened to Ben before it’s too late?

Set in Paris (no way), Foley gives us a psychological thriller with a modern whodunnit flare. With multiple POVs, short chapters, and a slow burn, The Paris Apartment had me guessing, and guessing again, until the end.

Absolutely loved all the twists and turns!! I found myself gasping a few times and also pausing to make sure I was understanding some stuff. Absolutely loved it!!

Oh wow, so my brain has had a thing for mystery/thrillers recently and this was the next one on the list. So overall, I think it was a fine book. The twists and turns throughout the story weren't totally predictable, but I do find that I thought the story lines with timeline was a little disjointed at times. When it was clear that a flashback was taking place they worked really well, but there was a few times that I didn't think it did and it added to the confusion of the story.
