More of a coffee table or reference book, but it’s a great crash course if you want to know what all of Shakespeare’s works were about and how they’ve been adapted over the years. Good companion piece to Bill Bryson’s Shakespeare biography “The World’s A Stage”

Fun infographics, cultural and historical context, mentions of memorable stagings...
this book was easy to read and I highly recommend it to any Shakespeare fan. Or anyone looking to better understand plays and language that don't always translate well in modern day.

This is a great book. Dorling Kindersley explains Shakespeare. Chronoligical order of Shakespeare's life and works. It has a two-page explanation of each play, outlining characters and the major story line. The next two pages discusses the story a little more in depth, with the origin and legacy of the story. Also tells about major productions and of course, with any Dorling Kindersley book, great pictures. I want to get a copy of this for my library.
