I really hate everything tom king has written. I wanted to know how he handled PTSD though, so I read it. The PTSD handling was ok, but the ending was incredibly unsatisfying and empty feeling. The other characters were often snippy and cynical and not great, either.
Graphic: Gore and Blood
Moderate: Violence

This was a fun read read. I liked the concept a lot- heroes dealing with their trauma- sign me up! This sounded really cool ans I enjoyed it while I was reading it, but I didn’t love the ending (wasn’t happy with who ended up being the “bad guy”) and I also felt like this would have been served better had they taken a different route. Throughout the book we see glimpses of different heroes’ confessionals and I loved those- abs I really think that a book just dealing with those and exploring the haven would have been better than the direction this went in. Not to say that this is awful, but to say that they could have gone a lot more micro in scale ans I think I would have liked it better. The most interesting part of this story was the concept and I think had they stuck closer to that cool concept that the story would have been something I liked better. Still I gave this book a pretty high star rating, so I obviously did still enjoy it’s just that I can’t help thinking about how I would have liked it better had they gone a different route.
Moderate: Gore, Violence, and Grief
