๐Ÿ“ Okay so this book was super long but it makes sense that it is? It's a why choose with 1 FMC and 3 MMC's, and we get POVs from all four of them. And the book doesn't end when they all get together, it actually spends a good amount of time grappling with what it would mean for famous-ish people to be poly.

๐ŸŽง The narration for these characters was really good and nuanced overall. There was one thing that kinda bugged me with one of the narrators, but I was able to look past it after a bit. They did a good job with the sexual tension and the sexytimes, as well as the "normal" thoughts and feelings.

๐ŸŒถ๏ธ 5/5. There is no other way to rate this book... It was chock full of hot sex. Like almost all the possible configurations of the four of them happen, there's a ton of fun and playfulness, there's a little bit of kinky stuff. And there was just a lot of sexy scenes ๐Ÿ˜†

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆโœŠ It's a foursome (MFMM), so there's straight, bi, and queer rep amongst the MCs. As for other forms of diversity, there were one or two side characters that were explicitly not white but they barely get any page time. Even class-wise, 3/4 of them are like mega rich, there's really not a lot of diversity besides sexuality. But you can't be everything for everyone all at once. It's good at what it is.

I know nothing about hockey. I don't care about hockey. But when a book is this full of MMF+M spicy scenes, I'll read a book about hockey.
Rachel was sweet, had a sensitive side, but was strong and sexy too.
The guys were a perfect blend of everything you want in a man. And there are 3 of them. She has 3 holes so it works out perfectly.
The sex was hot and the scenes were varied. It wasn't 750 pages of the same thing over and over.
This book has been recommended in so many book groups, and I'm glad I finally got to it. Fun summer read ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Edit. The audio is pretty bad. Amy Hall has this halting delivery, Ash Beverly forgets he is supposed to be Finnish, and Alex Kydd has this odd chuckle that he does. It really was hard to listen to.

The page count had me stuck โ€“ why would a romance need to be damn near 800 pages?? But damn if I didn't enjoy nearly every page. (There were 1 or 2 bits of dialogue that repeated.) Overall, I liked this way more than I thought I would.

I had no idea a why choose sports romance would make me think so much about my relationships and the flexibility of the human experience

I will never read a book like this again. This book is entirely too long and wouldโ€™ve been great without the never ending sex scenes. I had to skip forward and play the audiobook at up to 2x speed in several cases. The backstory is interesting but unfortunately overshadowed by the unending sex scenes.

When I saw the audiobook was 14.5 hours I thought thereโ€™s no way a book needs to be that long. And the reason itโ€™s so long is because itโ€™s a bunch of drawn out sex scenes linked together by an interesting story. This bin could have been shorter. Way shorter. But apparently the sex scenes just had to be as long as possible. I wish there was a version Iโ€™d the book with less sex and more story.
