This is not like any other story where it has a beginning, middle and an end. The story just goes on a day to day basis, where things keep disappearing on the strange island. This is a very dreamy and twisted story. Not a lot of action or climax is going on in the story but it somehow makes you read it because, as a reader I was intrigued to read more about the disappearances and how the people dealt with it. One thing I liked the most, is that the main character is a writer, so in between the chapters there is another story which she is writing and that story was very interesting!
Again, this is a very different book with a unique writing style and format. I feel that some people won't like it because of this, but if you are looking for something different and slow read, then this is for you!

3.5. A slow build that allowed me to get to know the main character, for an unexpected, but heartbreaking ending.

I really loved this novel. I found it to be a very tender and surreal look at loss. One needs to hold onto the people, items, and memories that bring them joy and comfort. Without them, our lives continue and we adapt to the changes but we lose the details that make life rich.

I dont like sad endings :-(

”I wanted to tell him that I knew I’d never learn anything, no matter how long I waited, but he had covered my lips with his and I could say nothing more.”
