First I just want to say that I’m in love with the colors in this issue. The carnival appearance is so perfect for this art style. It’s amazing. Part of me wishes the rest of the series would be based in this one location…but I know that isn’t possible.
This issue did a great job of reminding us that despite the epic quest that Abel is on, he’s still just a teenager. Some of the events feel like they’re coming full circle, hinting back to the events in the first issue. I love little bits like that, so I especially appreciated seeing it here.
I feel like they may be about to introduce more secondary characters…but then again they could just be people that Abel crosses paths with on his quest. It’s hard to say just yet – but I would like it if some of them became more permanent fixtures.
It does end in a tiny bit of a cliffhanger…but, not an unbearable one. So I’ll manage to survive until the next issue. Though I’m very much looking forward to it.
